Time flies at the speed of light through fiber optic lines! September 2021 marks 2 years since Trailblazer Broadband was officially launched. Since then we have run approximately 842,540 lineal feet (that’s 159.5 miles!) of fiber optic cable and have provided service to over 1,300 customers to date.

Cooperation is the key to any successful endeavor, and it is particularly important where the construction of the Trailblazer Fiber Network is concerned. Before running fiber to a neighborhood, one of the first steps is to work with the area Homeowners and Condo Associations, property managers and business complex owners to communicate the construction plans and ensure that appropriate permissions are obtained.

“Because we are part of the Town infrastructure and this is our community, we want to get things right from the start,” says Kim Smith, Trailblazer’s Customer Experience Manager. Read the full article here.

Trailblazer’s lightning-fast speed doesn’t just apply to internet service, it also applies to restoring service. Accidents happen, and in one instance in August, a local accident cut one of Trailblazer’s main feeders, a tiny line that carried service to about 100 customers. The local Town of Estes Park Power & Communications fiber team was on the scene within minutes and using its own internal splicing capability, restored service within 1 hour instead of many hours or even days. Another advantage to having locally owned and operated high speed internet service!

The Town of Estes Park and Trailblazer Broadband proudly sponsored the 2nd Annual Chamber Cup Golf Tournament on August 13th to say thank you to the business community.

Reuben Bergsten, Director of Utilities for Estes Park Power & Communications explains, “we are an integral part of the community and wanted to show our support for the Chamber and all the area businesses as we all rebound from the pandemic.”

Upload speed is how fast your data is sent from you to others. Uploading is necessary for sending big files via email, file-sharing or in using video-chat to talk to someone else online, since you have to send your video feed to them. Zoom call anyone?

The bottom line is that when most internet companies talk about their top speeds, they are only referring to downloads. Trailblazer offers symmetrical speed of up to 1 GIG for downloads AND uploads with no data caps.
